Blues
guitarist from Chester, NY. I have made a total of seven albums with my
own band. The first two were Love Scars (which was originally on done in
1995 for Pointblank and then picked up by Virgin Records in 1996) and
Greycourt Lightning. A limited production live album recorded at Manny's
Carwash in NYC in 1999. My four most recent albums are on Blind Pig
Records, who I signed with in 2000. I have also appeared on several
albums by other artists, including Richie Havens, Groove Armada, and
Popa Chubby. I was presented my first guitar at the age of five. Right
away, I could play the theme from 'Batman.' Like
Charlie Parker and Jimi
Hendrix, my heritage is half Afro-American and half American Indian, and
grew up in a household surrounded by gospel and blues music. My father
used to listen to Jimmy Smith and B.B. King, and my grandmother played
organ in church, so I was always around this kind of music. Eventually,
I gravitated to the rock sounds of the 60's after seeing
Jimi Hendrix
live when I was 12. My favorite guitarists are Jimi Hendrix, Duane
Allman, and
Johnny Winter. Through them, I eventually discovered
Albert
Collins, B.B. King, and Freddie King, who is my favorite blues
guitarist. Currently, I have been touring the US and Europe supporting
my latest recording, Don't Know Nothin' About Love, which was released
July 2006.
