There are some bands which self destruct because of the
tensions existing between sibling members... Then there is roots group 'Blue
Shaddy'.
Blue Shaddy's infectious amalgam of country, roots and blues could only be
described as 'loud, feral and unpretentious', performed with physical
presence and power. Throw in a good dash of outright country charm and you
have 'Blue Shaddy'. This is blues with a twist!
An outfit comprising of singer songwriter, Jim (Neil McClelland), his wife
Sandra (bass), his brother Belly (harmonica) and newest Shaddy member Callum
Kramer (drums). This group dispel any such thought of family rivalry; their
performances manifest an affinity which can only exist between musical kin.
With frontman Jim sitting centre stage sporting his signature smile, he soon
whips his gang into a musical frenzy of country blues and roots. This album
will offer the listener a look into the Shaddy head space of this past year,
with a heartfelt song written by Jim dedicated to Sandy's mum who passed
away earlier this year. Though old Shaddy fans won't be disappointed, there
will still be the blues cum country thrashings of old but with a twist.
