Edwin Holt was born in Dallas, Texas in 1967 and grew up in the piny woods of East Texas. He was influenced early on by two women that played an intricate part in raising him. Both of which had ties with R.L. Griffin, a Texas Blues Legend.

After high school, Edwin moved to Mississippi and began his musical career in the Delta learning from legends such was Willie Foster and James "Son" Thomas.

Returning back to Dallas, Edwin became a sit in on R.L. Griffin's Show and soon after joined The Little World Show band.

Edwin continues to play with R.L. Griffin after 15 years, has established his own ten piece orchestra and has become a living legend among the Black American community,
