Gusman Jr-Guitar, Vocals
George is a Blues Rock Guitarist from Northern California Area who came
to Austin 10 years ago to play music. He was the founding member of
Texas Storm a SRV tribute band based out of the San Francisco Bay Area
playing various venues; among them the San Jose Blues Festival sharing
the bill with The Tommy Castro Band.
George sold his business and house and decided to move to Texas in 1996
to pursue his dream of "playing the Blues" in Austin. He formed the
Double Barrel Blues Band based out of San Antonio then the "Rattlers" a
popular Blues/ Rock Band in the Austin Area.
George now fronts the George Gusman Jr. Band a hard hitting Blues/Rock
power trio with veteran bassist Scott Womack and Jim Marsala on drums.
George's first CD is "Ready to Strike" which features Tommy Shannon and
Chris Layton from "Double Trouble" lending their talent to 4 songs
including the title track. Other musicians on the CD are pro-bassist
Chris Maresh from Eric Johnson's Band, veteran drummer-Rick Connell and
veteran producer Larry Telford who's worked with Jimmy Vaughan and
Crosby, Stills & Nash lent his talents on the keyboards along with
producing the album.
The band can be seen regularly playing the 311 Blues Club on Austin's
famous 6th Sreet and other popular venues in the Area entertaining
visitors and locals alike.
