Mark Potvin is a Jazz/Blues Guitarist, Vocalist, Band Leader, Songwriter, and Radio Show Host that has been playing music professionally in the Thunder Bay area for over 16 years. He has two bands: The Mark Potvin Blues Band (Blues from the 20's to the 50's especially Chicago Blues) and Mark Potvin's Little Swing Band (Jazz from the 20's to the 50's). Throughout his musical career he has been blessed to have played with some of Canada's finest musicians. Mark has opened for some great acts such as, Colin James, Blue Rodeo, Paul Shaffer, Denny Dougherty, Lighthouse and The Detroit Women of Blues. He has played at both the 2005 & 2010 Thunder Bay Blues Festivals and it has been his privilege to have performed at 14 separate City of Thunder Bay "Summer in The Park" concert series events. Mark was the pit guitarist for The Magnus Theater Musical Production of The Little Shop of Horrors in September of 2007. In December of that same year he was a Producer/Promoter Advisory Panelist for The Ontario Arts Council and in May of 2008 he was a Juror for the Roots/Adult Contemporary granting process for FACTOR. In January of 2010 Mark's Blues Trio was selected to perform at the Thunder Bay Olympic Torch Bearer's Ceremony. It is with great pride that Mark has added his three teenage sons Max, Ben & Sam to his musical line up as his horn section. In the summer of 2010 Mark Potvin's Little Swing Band was nominated for a Siggy Born Jazz Award for their live video performance of "Do You Make It Up As You Go Along" - sponsored by the Sudbury Jazz Festival.
