LOCAL ARTIST BRINGS BACK
DOWNTOWN BLUES FESTIVAL
Mac Arnold, local businesses turn popular event into charitable cause
Greenville, S.C. -- The 2nd annual MAC
ARNOLD CORNBREAD AND COLLARD GREENS BLUES FESTIVAL will kick off Wednesday, May
7 at 5:30 p.m. at the Piazza Bergamo. The four-day event is presented by Mac
Arnold & Plate Full O’ Blues and sponsored by the Pickwick Pharmacy and other
local businesses.
During the festival, blues artist Mac Arnold will raffle off one of his famous,
handmade Gas Can Guitars. All proceeds from the raffle will go to the Children’s
Hospital. A portion of the festivals proceeds will also benefit the local
Children’s Hospital.
In anticipation of this upcoming event, Mac Arnold and members of his band will
be at The Pickwick Pharmacy at 3219 Augusta Street on Monday, May 5, 2008 at 10
am. The public will have the opportunity to meet Mac and his band and purchase
tickets to the festival.
The blues festival schedule will continue on May 7 with a 9 p.m. performance at
the Bohemian Café at Horizon Records on Stone Avenue. Larkin’s on the River will
host the event on Thursday, May 8. Other event venue locations and times will be
